Shalom Ministry

Shalom Ministry was founded in July of 1979 and became incorporated with the State of Iowa on July 15, 1983. It was conceived in the heart of the founder by the Holy Spirit, and was ordained by the Lord to be a "help" ministry. In 1990 Shalom Ministry became officially affiliated with the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International.

The heartbeat of SMI is the gospel, and it pulsates with missionary zeal. We can fulfill this call by intercession, going and/or giving.

It is our quest, our goal to walk in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance, encouraging those who desire to be "set aside" - ordained for the work of the Lord!

Concerning Ordination

We are cautious as we ordain men and women to the ministry. We seek to know the candidates or have good confidence in the recommendations given by other pastors or co-workers. We do not ordain at random anyone who inquires, but sincere prayer, fasting, and supplication is made unto the Lord before the “Laying On of Hands,” and ordination occurs.

Statement of Purpose

Ordination Defined: It is the act of setting aside an individual for the purpose of ministry. Ministry is the work of the Lord, which is seen in God's Word as evangelist, prophet, teacher, counselor, pastor, apostle, missionary, etc. We also know that the Word of the Lord teaches us to GO! Therefore, ministry may be witnessing, distributing the Word, tracts, helps, governments, gifts, healings, miracles, intercessory prayer, etc. We pray that whatever God has put within your heart and your spirit that you will perform the doing of it unto the coming of the Lord! 1 Cor. 12:17-18

Ordination comes from God. We are just His hands extended. You will be accountable to Him, the Just Judge of all. We give praise to the Lord that we can be a part of your ministry. We are here to encourage and pray with you as you fulfill HIS call upon your life.
